budding beauty trends for 2017
I feel like last year was the first time we started to see such wild trends in the beauty world and they were all welcomed with open arms. Unicorn hair, undercuts, aquarium globe nails (wtf?!) just to name a few. We’re hardly a full month into the new year and we’re already seeing some awesome, and some not so much trends. Kim K was spotted with some serious hardware- “pierced” acrylic nails- definitely a cool editorial look but like the caption says “perfect new fad for people who don’t need to use their hands”. We’re also not so sure about this wire nail trend…looks cool but also practical.
As for hair, the experts are saying this is the year of “hygge” literally translating in Danish to warmth and comfort. Warm buttery tones are in for both blondes and brunettes. I’ve always preferred icy tones to warm tones but I guess it depends on skin coloring.
my sweet sixteen comes back again
This is not a drill. One of the best shows we ever hate watched is coming back to TV. MTV is currently scouting the most spoiled rotten, obnoxious teenagers of the USA. Fingers crossed that they’ll do a “where are they now” episode.
ditch the perfect pout for a stained lip
Perfectly lined lips are too done up for every occasion. I’m a huge fan of the tinted, or blotted lips that look more natural (more of less because I cannot put on lipstick for the life of me). I am loving Glossier’s Generation G sheer matte lipstick and also Elf’s aqua beauty radiant gel lip tint.
you can now bring drinks thru TSA (kind of)
It’s always a bummer when you have to throw your H2O away before going through TSA at the airport. The Points Guy geniously pointed out that according to the 3-1-1 rule you can have liquids as long as they are completely frozen when they go through TSA. Say goodbye to $9 waters inside the gate.
mochi bar launches at Whole Foods
ughhh, Whole Foods. You win. You always do. Self-service frozen mochi bar? We thought we had seen it all after the burrito bar and cookie bar. Right now the mochi bars are only at select locations but we’re hoping it comes our way soon!
