Our favorite time of year is here! The holidays bring family, friends, and food together and with us being away from home it’s more meaningful than ever. We’re prepping for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, Black Friday (holiday in our books), Christmas, and apparently now Single’s Day (read more below). We’d love to hear about your holiday traditions! Boston City Hall gets a winter makeover
Dubbed “Boston Winter” by Mayor Marty Walsh, we can’t wait to check this one out! A custom designed outdoor skating path, a holiday market, and a stage for performers are just a few of the features. We’ve always loved Bryant Park in NYC for holiday festivness and hope that this will be similiar. We have great memories of going to Boston with our families during the holiday season and there’s something magical about the city all dressed in lights.
Starbucks holiday cups have arrived!
And now to an always controversial subject- the Starbucks holiday cups are back! With 13 new cups; 12 hot, and 1 cold, there’s something for everyone! Starbucks listened to the people last year and after many complaints, they held the #RedCupContest, where Instagram users uploaded their own artwork submissions. We’d say it’s a win win.
How to ripen an avocado
You’re probably thinking an avocado has nothing to do with the holidays. That’s where you’re wrong. Avocados have everything to do with everything. JK, but seriously… In an emergency and need a ripe avocado yesterday? Who doesn’t understand this situation? Preheat your oven to 200°F, wrap your sad, unripen avo in tinfoil and pop it in the oven for 10 minutes. Voila! Happy avocado. God, we love the Internet.

Single Girls Shopping Holiday
Apparently, November 11th (yep- 11.11. they did that on purpose) is a holiday in China- Single’s Day is dedicated to those without a man/woman and we are wondering where this holiday has been in the states?! There’s a major festival where vendors come out and cash is flowing. Single’s Day blows Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales out of the water. This year shoppers spent $17.8 BILLION dollars in 24 hours. Talk about doing some damage- we thought our Old Navy at midnight splurge was bad.
